reduce

The Funky Brewster has begun trying to reduce our usage of packaging that harms the environment, and working to source our other supplies in ways that reduce our carbon footprint.

Paper - Our marketing structure is focused on using technology instead of traditional print advertising. The paper we do use is 100% recycled.

Did you know that paper and plastic products can be made 100% compostable with 100% recycled materials? Eco-Products uses sugarcane and corn byproducts to create environmentally friendly paper and plastic products. The Funky Brewster thinks that is important, that's why we use Eco-Products as a supplier!

Milk and Coffee - The milk we use is locally produced, and is horomone free. Our locally roasted coffee is 100% organic, purchased through the Fair Trade agreement, and all of our beans are roasted in small batches to ensure consistency and freshness.

Syrups - The Funky Brewster uses Monin Gourmet Flavorings for several reasons.

Web Hosting - 1&1 Web Hosting has partnered with the Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) to offset 100% of the energy usage of their data center in Lenexa, Kansas by purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). The majority of the RECs will be sourced from the Bowersock Mills and Power Company’s hydroelectric facility in Lawrence, Kansas. This hydroelectric facility is certified low impact by the Low Impact Hydro Institute (LIHI).

We try to find a useful home for spent coffee grounds, like composting, or as a natural garden fertilizer.

recycle

We collect our used glass and plastics at each of our events. We also use biodegradable trash bags for all of our trash.
